i reformated my computer today, which i do every 8 months or so, but when i went to install the drivers for my video card, i had all kinds of problems. it says that the driver is working, but i cant get my computer out of 640x480 or 16 color mode! it is the most annoying thing ever, i cant even do basic things like surf the web, let alone play tfc! i dont know what could be the problem, i installed the driver right.

if anyone could help it would be EXTREMELY appreciated.

Do you have one of the motherboards with the built on video, as well as a better AGP card? Sometimes that causes problems.

Did you change OSes? If so, driver versions might be wrong...

just tossing out ideas

Go into settings, control panel, system, device manager and remove the video device and reboot and let it install again.

Another thing you absolutely should do is go to the Website of your card manufacturer and download the latest drivers. That is always the first thing I do.
