Here is what I know of TFC2...

There is no official release date yet.

There will be 12 classes, incl., but not limited to:
Marine
Commando
Spy
Sniper
Medic
Engie

It will be played as missions or campaigns. Each campaign will consist of three or four maps and last 45 to 60 minutes long.

pyrozen, actually there is a new spy class and it looks quite interesting. The knife has been replaced with a choke-string (whatever its called), and they have remote controlled robots that can do recon for them.

a spy with a choke wire, just like in hitman: codename 47. Can he still disguise himself? That would be a little far fetched considering that TFC2 is going for a more realistic setting. Where does the spy keep all his disguises anyway?

Here's my $.02

I think that TF2 will never be released, at least not under that name. Here is my reasons why..

Back in April of 99' when TFC was released by Valve it was a big hit. Back then it was the only multiplayer mod for HL except for Deathmatch. So soon after they announced TF2. I believe they announced it in June of 99'. Around this time the first betas of CS are released and TF2 was supposed to be released for the 99' Christmas season.

The 99' Christmas season passes with no TF2. CS starts to gain in popularity.

Enter 2000, Still no TF2 with CS & TFC running neck & neck for the most popular online game.

2001, CS overtakes TFC as the most popular online game. Valve hires the whole CS development team. Still no TF2.

TFC/TF2 has moved down the importance scale at Valve. The next release from Valve will probably have more CS aspects to it than TFC aspects. It's logical for it to happen this way whether we like it or not. So enjoy it while it lasts. Because the next "TF" won't be the same.

This is just my opinion.

From what I understand, the next spy class will have garotte wire. He will be able to silently kill people without losing his disguise, but to do that, he has to use the garotte wire while no one can see him.

The engineer will be able to build fixed gun emplacements, he can build more than one, but only as long as the generators *coughtribes2ripoffcough* have enough power to run them. If the generators are shut down, so are all the base defenses.

The machine gunner will need to deploy his machine gun to gain more accuracy, he will get even better accuracy/rof if he has a teammate stand next to him and feed him ammo.

The commander/officer (can't remember what he is called) will be in charge, as long as he is commanding a squad, they will play better. From what I understand, if a commander class is in the vicinity of a squad of teammates, they will have an added bonus to accuracy, speed, stamina and stuff like that. This is to encourage team-play.
