They're not really up to date in their recomendation!!
They suggest the Ati9800pro as the best "budget" video card!!!! Wrong!!!!
The Nvidia 6600Gt is by far better AND cheaper than the 9800pro!!! _________________ S Q U I D L Y

That's the one I and some of my friends have. I play FPS, RTS, and MMORPG on mine and haven't had any problems. _________________

I wouldn't say they're as wrong as you make them sound... the real world benchmarks show the 9800 Pro is still beating the 6600GT some of the time. And, new card pricing fluctuates alot more. The last magazine released went to press sometime in December... was the 6600GT cheaper then?
Anyways, as far as a LCD goes, I would also see if you can't get a chance to look at a ViewSonic VP912B in person, as well as the Dell. Personally I'm looking to get a ViewSonic VP171B-2 as soon as I earn some cash. _________________ -EvilGenius V$^PK

Not all TFTs ghost. Some Viewsonics don't ghost at all. Neither does the one posted below.
Dakon, check this one out, unless you already snapped one up. It is silver, but people that have it, say it is fantastic. 8ms response time too. They say the screen is made by Samsung. For $379, how can you go wrong?

Make sure you get one with a high contrast ratio and research what they post as the refresh rate because some fudge it A LOT... So watch out for that, some numbers that line up in specs don't alwasy translate to what you get. _________________ {db}Deathbringer

My viewsonic doesnt ghost and i have no dead pixels basicly it blow away my old viewsonic crt which was awsome it seriously bugs me to use my crt at this point cause the lcd is so much better. Also remeber that 19inch lcd is actuly bigger than 19inch crt as the full 19 inches is viewable. _________________ And Pig ponders, Why do people play HW when they know I'm just going to shoot them in the head?

Good choice. FYI, I do not have any ghosting on my LCD in DVI mode. I didn't notice it in VGA, but I wasn't looking for either. You may find down the road that you wished you had gotten one with DVI. There a good reason for having it on all the high-end graphics boards! Night and Day..
Oh, by the way, I just bought a 6600GT, they got them in stock at CompUSA, so I orderd it on-line today, gonna pick it up tomorrow. 199. _________________ "I Cant HEAR YOU"
