I think its the same version that everybody
has except for the personal mdl files like
the Ville logo's and Palm trees? Check with
Robert on this. |

I don't think this is the program that Rob used but it should do the same thing.
http://countermap.counter-strike.net/Nemesis/batch.html
Download Batch Compiler from that link.
Choose Rip Ent (rip entities).
Make sure its set to Export.
Open Avanti.bsp.
Click Compile.
Go to your tfc/maps directory.
Open up Avanti.ent with WordPad.
Make your changes.
Go back to Batch Compiler.
Select Rip Ent again.
Choose Import.
You're on your own now - I havn't actually imported a ent list back into bsp file yet.

UPDATE:
once you have the avanti.ent file in your maps directory, backup the old avanti.bsp file.
Now go back to batch compiler.
Select Import.
Select avanti.bsp.
The program will insert the entity file into the bsp file.
Now dont tell anyone how you did it so they will think you are cool

haha to funny!
Nice response cstone! Additionaly don't you need to give the entities map cordinates for location of the new entities?
When this is installed in a players map will they have any trouble getting into other servers that are running the unmodified map?

Er I dunno - I would suggest backing up any files that you alter just to be safe. And yes you will need the coordinates for a location. To get the aproxamite coords type status in the console when you are running a LAN server. They will pop in XYZ form. The Z value is determined by the player head I think - so you will have to use trial and error until you get the new entity to ground level.
I am currently updated some maps on the PWG server. I am gonna steal Rob's idea and put up some Xen creatures in Avanti. Right now there's a big nasty spike thing (xen_tree) sitting next to the grenades. Hows THAT for discouraging spam?? Lol if you get to close, it'll start swinging at you. |

Ignorance is bliss, eh?
If you've ever taken a geometry class, you should be able to relate to a XYZ graph or at least an XY graph. X is the horizontal demension, and Y is the vertial. Z is the depth. Your frame of reference is looking straight down.
Er- I just thought I'd spew out some math talk for ya too
