|
|
I am currently looking to upgrade my current video card. My current card is an Nvidia GeForce2 with 64MB Ram. I am looking to upgrade to an ATI card but not sure which one to look at. I don't think I need the best or the baddest card but I am looking to get some good bang for the buck.
The one I am currently eyeballing is the ATI Radeon 9800 128MB AGP Video Card. I know there are better ones out there but for the money it seems like a good buy. I was just looking for some opinions from those that know a little more than myself. _________________

BRN, if your prepared to pay for a 9800 then just go for a 9800 pro. But if you want a good compromise then a 9600 Pro is all you would need.
JMHO.
Do some searches for other peoples thoughts and reviews of cards, hardocp.com may be a good place to start.

I don't know how good those new ATI cards that are supposed to be that come with HL2(or at least a coupon for it). That also might be a route to look into if you are going to be getting HL2. _________________ I need to make a sig, but I don't have the time. Maybe I will eventually. |

ditto. if your willing to pay for the 9800 then take the pro.
otherwise the 9600pro is the best performance/$ _________________ PROUD TO BE A MEMBER OF =US-V= & VILLE $UPPORTER |

?? I haven't heard anything about a coupon for a card with HL2. In doing some research I do know that my current card will get around 15 fps with HL2. I also know that the 9800 will get around 50 fps. I haven't done much research beyond that though. _________________
