Ok well as some know i reformatted my computer well i had pings that were 40-70 b4 the format and now my pings are like 150-200. Nothing has changed or anything i have tried to tweak the settings and its not looking good. their is only 1 thing i could think of thats the problem is when i was trying to fix it my dad took the card out without turning the comp off which it says u should never do. (im on a wireless network) but could that be it or some other krazy reason plz help me

Which card? Network card? If so, is your wireless card connected through USB? If it is, then your dad taking it out is probably NOT the problem.

Windows can recover from that. Sometimes it needs a restart, but not always.

are you running a firewall?? i had the same prob a couple of weeks ago.

uninstalling the firewall helped me.

But let me point out that it was not cobra who determined that this needed to be done. It was the "crappy" support folks from his provider.

we worked on it together.


and it wasn't a crappy support engineer. never had such good service. replaced modem for nothing, worked on my comp for 2 hours and they didn't charge a thing for it. i even got my phonecosts back.

Remeber, He is not in America,so he is more likely to find useful help, instead of help from unskilled people who got their job because the goverment felt sorry for them

I had the excact same problem when i whiped my cpu untill i installed my video drivers! make sure u have all ur drivers reinstalled

I have been watching this thread closely. I am having similiar problems and had a few good tips but they haven't worked. I think I may be having issues with direct X 9.0 . I have what is now an older card and it says nothing about supporting 9.0 . I may be getting a new vid card before to long too. I just need to find one to purchase for less than $400.

Yeah. I think I am having a problem with DirectX and vid card, when I try and play DoD. I just randomly drop to the desktop.
