Which card? Network card? If so, is your wireless card connected through USB? If it is, then your dad taking it out is probably NOT the problem.
Windows can recover from that. Sometimes it needs a restart, but not always. _________________

But let me point out that it was not cobra who determined that this needed to be done. It was the "crappy" support folks from his provider.

we worked on it together.
and it wasn't a crappy support engineer. never had such good service. replaced modem for nothing, worked on my comp for 2 hours and they didn't charge a thing for it. i even got my phonecosts back. _________________ PROUD TO BE A MEMBER OF =US-V= & VILLE $UPPORTER |

I'll have to find that original thread so I can post all the nasty things you were saying about them...until they came and fixed your connection. _________________

I have been watching this thread closely. I am having similiar problems and had a few good tips but they haven't worked. I think I may be having issues with direct X 9.0 . I have what is now an older card and it says nothing about supporting 9.0 . I may be getting a new vid card before to long too. I just need to find one to purchase for less than $400. _________________

Yeah. I think I am having a problem with DirectX and vid card, when I try and play DoD. I just randomly drop to the desktop. _________________
