This has happened to me on several occasions: on Avanti, after blue and red switch offense and defense, the gates will not open and that game is ruined. It's also annoying how enemy mg's get left behind even after the round is over. Anyone else notice these things?

Oh yes the famous gate bug has ruined many a game.If you can find an admin on another ville server he will fix it Mgs stay up between rounds also.

From what an Admin here said, this happens after the Church is captured and that person
then switches teams I think? |

That's one of the reasons, species
WE can't fix that code- only valve can do that.
It doesn't happen often.

i was on and when the church was capped the gates started open and then closed for a little while when it said "Gates are open" |

The only way to fix that is for the defending team to let the attacking team to cap points 1 and 2. Then the attackers will respawn by CP1. Anyone stuck in the respawn area will have to kill themselves to get out after CP2 is capped. |

There is one more way of stopping this. When it says 10 sec till gates open, have someone stand directly under the gates and it will hit him and bounce back up. I have done this plenty of times back in the day. |

I was playing last tuesday night on TV 1, and this happened. It wasn't a problem until one of the games when we on the other team before that capped point 2. Then everyone was stuck in the respawn.

Is it legitimate to go for grenade kills when the Gates are shut? It's possible to lob grenades over the walls (from both sides), so it's actually possible to rack up frags even when both teams are sequestered by the stuck gate. I was just wondering because I picked up a few frags in this manner the other day when the Avanti gate was frozen for the duration of the map. |
