you forgot [/img] (at the end)
and to put a picture in a post, or a sig, you have to have it somewhere on the internet, and then do:
[url*] pic's url [/url*] (ignore the *'s)

If it's just a pic from the internet and not one you made you can usually just right click the image and put the url between [img][/img]
