Picture uploads

I know you guys are sick of questions about pictures in posts, but I'm only indirectly asking about that. I seem to remember that before I left but not after I came back that there was an option somewhere in the forum system that would let you upload a piture from your comp to a 'Ville server, for the purposes of letting you have a custom signature below posts (because it would now have a web address). I can no longer find this. Was I just hallucinating this or did you remove (or just move) the feature?

Yes that feature was removed. I used to do it the same way. Now it has to be hosted on the web to have it up.

If I recall right, the problem had nothing to do with theville. PHPBB came out with a new version and no one has made a mod to upload pictures yet(or at least last time I checked).

I checked my profile and it has the little avatar thing, but that's only 80x80 pixels My pic is around 400x500 or 500x400 I'm not sure so it won't fit in there and I don't think I can compress is to that size without it losing all of its impact. Will getting a free website work for this?

The avatar which you can upload from your machine is the little image below your name (on the left). If you want to get a sig to show up under your post you need to have it on a website somewhere, however most free websites dont allow remote linking (therefor if you try to get it as your sig it will just be a box saying "whatever doesnt allow remote linking" or something). You need to find someone that will host your sig for you, or you could use the file-uploading think at www.clanpwg.org (It's easy as long as you dont abuse it).
