WTF is this crap

This is the second time I've reinstalled HL. I am getting an error where it says it can't verify my won. Then it tells me my exe is out of date. When I go to update it is up to date. The circle keeps continuing. WTF is wrong with WON? Did my WON ID get haxed?

You might also run a virus scan. I believe I heard somewhere that there is a virus that will do that to half life.

Frag uninstall it first and then reboot. Delete the directory and all of it's contents. Use Regedit and look for the key- HKey_Local_Machine and then proceed down the list to \Software\sierra Online\Half-Life. Delete this key.

I have two referances to this game. if it's the same with you, Delete only the Half-Life listed in the second dir. I play Alien vs Predator2 by the same company so this is why I have two. Don't worry about the Won *.* since it only holds your Reg key for HL. Reboot once again, and then run a Virus Scan after this. Then a Scan Disk. Then run Defrag.

Try the installation again.

Delete all files by doing a manual sierra foler to the trash can. Then use regedit and remove remaining traces. HL is horrible iwth unistall and leave crap all over that can still f u up. I know i have dealt with it.

Hmm, then again, maybe he should ground himself MunkeyEye beforehand just so that this procedure does not wipeout all of his leet compeitition skills that he has achieved over the years here ? Why waste all of the secret training that goes on here at the ville anyhow right
