Actually Nvidia's next card (I can't believe I forgot to mention it) is the Geforce Fx. It will feature a 500 mhz Core clock speed and DDR2 technology rated at 1000 mhz. The radeon 9700 pro has a core clock speed of 325 mhz, and a memory speed of 620 mhz. As you can imagine the Geforce Fx, which is scheduled to come out in February will be a huge leap from the ATI Radeon 9700 pro.
You can be sure that the folks at ATI haven't been sitting on their hands all day waiting for Nvidia to come out with a better card though. They are supposed to be releasing a new card after the Geforce FX is out. |

As I recall, ATI is planning the next release for January. The card will have 256m RAM. Don't recall if he said what the bus speed would be.
Also, they are working with the RAM manufacturers to develop a new type of RAM specific to the structural/operational needs of the graphics cards. _________________
