If you don't know how then I advise you find someone who does and ask them to do it (watch em tho so you can learn)
It should slot into a PCI slot (white ones, on your motherboard) like a soundcard or modem. _________________ Most evil admin around.

hehe thats about the only thing i do know about the inside of a computer...
unless the card is.. um.. really strange, it should be a PCI card. There are probably 2-4 pci slots in your computer. One is probably taken up by a sound card, others could be a modem, video card (if its not very good, better vid cards are AGP), etc. if you can find those, look next to them for an open white slot, maybe .. 4 inches long? you'll have to use a screwdriver to take out the metal piece thats in the back of the computer by it. (its there as a placeholder for a card, just so there's not a hole in the back). Then just put in the card fitting that metal part in first, then snap the back into the pci slot. it should go in easily, push on it lightly to make sure its in.
oh yeah, and of course, yknow, unplug the computer first and hold in power button a few secs after its unplugged to empty any power in it. then touch the metal case inside to ground yourself before touching any cards. |

What goldom said is wright and for installing:
if you use windows ME or higher it should install completly by him self. I don't know for earlier versions of windows. so normally when you start up your computer, it wil automaticly detect the new card and install it. If it doesn't well normally when you by the card you should also been given a floppy. then the only thing you should do is put it into your floppy drive and start up the floppy. then it's just going trough the installation wizard. _________________ PROUD TO BE A MEMBER OF =US-V= & VILLE $UPPORTER |
