I have friends that are in both Air and Army National Guard, and they both seem to like it, so if your into that sort of thing either way you should be good. _________________ Killing is my bidness ladies and BIDNESS IS GOOD!!!! |

You'd probably do less in the Air Guard. My friends there talk about how cake it is. _________________

Join the Marines!!!!!!!! Oh wait, that's not an option is it? Well, having worked with both those services, I can tell you that if you want a cushy military experience go to the Air Guard, the Army Nat'l Guard would probably let you do more, tho. Why do you want to join? The only reason I ask is because your reason for joining might change my suggestion. For instance, If you want to travel, I'd tell you to join the Navy or Marines (my service). We always seem to go places first. I myself have been to more than 8 countries on nearly every continent, and some of them were even fun visits.
If you want to become something technical, and receive really good training join the air force (to include air guard). However, be prepared for a desk job, which is why I didn't join them.
I'm surprised you didn't mention the coast guard. I have some friends there as well, and from talking to them, it sounds like the kind of thing that can almost be tougher than the military, if only because their fight never stops.
If you want a part time thing, just remember that all the services have reserve components, which might be good since you're in college, but the services have programs that would allow you to go to college for free, have the military pay for it, then spend four years as an officer (which is by far better than spending four years as enlisted, trust me on that one)
Sorry about the ramble, I got carried away. Whatever you do, take a look at all your options, cause you don't want to get stuck doing something you hate for several years. In any case tho, good on you for wanting to serve your country. Good luck however you go. _________________ Under construction!!! |

I like how services (especially the Army) use really hyped up commercials that tell people that if you join the Army, you'll do really cool stuff (like I saw one recently about an Army team like ascending a mountain) when in reality most people do stuff that isn't nearly as fun as what they advertise. But if they advertised boring jobs, hardly anyone would signup. But I say "screw the Army" and am going Air Force. Azrael, do you know anything that would help me get the A.F.R.O.T.C. scholarship?? _________________

I don't know much about the USAF (aside from the fact that they "usually" have better looking women than the other services, and are generally better trained) and how they run things like scholarships, but I took a look and found this site http://www.afrotc.com/scholarships/scholfaq/ it's a FAQ for the AFROTC scholarship, hope it helps. _________________ Under construction!!! |

I say it all depends on what you want to do. My mom is a nurse and some doc's she knows joined either Navy or Air Force to help them get through med sk00l. I went Army cuz I've always wanted to drive a tank and Army has the best armor, true Marines are kick ass if ya wanna be a grunt but their not big on armor. I say we all kick ass cuz we have 1 thing in common, we all were crazy enuff to enlist in SOMETHING .
