internet games

tf used to work fine for me. everything ran beautifully. then one day i opend tf then clicked on multiplayer and then internet games. i noticed that a second counter appeared and counted down from about 4 seconds. then when the internet games window appeared there were no games in the list. my filters were already set so i just clicked update. it took about 4 seconds then the gray box came up and was trying to update all 27000 servers. i checked my filter and did the same. in my filters i have are responding, are running dedicated server, are running game tfc, are not full. no matter what i do it trys to update every server regardless of the filters. if anyone knows how to fix this please tell me. its not a problem as i can still join the ville servers from this website but its just a big annoyance when i want to play dod or server hop.

heya jack, I have had the same problem. The only way I know to resolve it consitently (because the the WON server browser retrieves the server list right sometimes and other times it doesn't) is to install the Gamespy Browser and get the server list through them. There are some annoying ads and such, but you can run an unregistered version(free) of Gamespy and get all the Half-Life and Mod servers everytime. Hope that helps.

i already have gamespy installed for medal of honor allied assault. ill just use that. plus i cant figure out how to work the all seeing eye.

umm team fortress doesnt appear under my games. i scanned my cpu with the scan for games thing and it still doesnt show up. how can i get it to appear on gamespy.

You have to look under half life and in there change gametype to TFC, I would personally use All Seeing Eye as it scans quicker

I had that problem yesturday, it was after i downloaded that Natural Selection, i lost everything on my list, and then it didnt connect as fast.

I had a thread about this problem a few days ago.. and mine was right after installing NS as well... I wonder if its doing something to the HL server list?

Anyway, I took the advice above, which was also given to me at the time and tried getting the Eye, recluctatly - I REALLY don't like 3rd party server lists... but this one is different, I actually like it a lot, using it now instead of the half chance the normal one works.
