That is why I really like No Stats week even though I miss keeping track of my personal improvement. It reminds the stat heads how nuch fun it used to be to PLAY the GAME. Each month a couple more enter the world of "Stats but no Stats".

No one expects people to go charging at 3 SGS as a scout with just some concs, caltrops and a nail gun (it seemed like a good idea at the time) but we do expect people to be aggresive and attack the enemy and stir things up a bit.

Nothing more frustrating than to wipe out the D at the bridge and head off to 4 only to have most of your team still defending 2 against an invisible enemy who is now defending 4. This is war, people will respawn, that is to be expected !

Glad to see you've come over from the stat side.

Aye stats week is so much fun everyone plays to have fun and there less snipers and sg peeps just sitten around there are more people that actualy "play" the game. But with the stats it forces me to become a diff class then a would rather be. I kick everyones butt as a HWG but Like Mr.hat stated in a previous thred I have to change to a crappy class and be cheap if I want to be anywhere on the top 50's. So like kronic I have decided screw being a trendy engi or sniper im going to be a HWG and if I see someone on the top in a game ill be sure to mow you down as much as possible (if you come outa the respawn)

It's even better when you don't really try and somehow notice yourself only 5-10 spots behind people who care.

I on the other hand will charge at 3 or 4 sgs without looking back. This week i find myself being more willing to die if it means our team can get past those sgs. I think this is because of no stats week. I played random class non stop last week, and i have grown into my balls because of it. I am not high in stats right now, but i had scores like 56-40, or 38-17. I cant get into the top 5 with those scores, but my team will always win. Oh and by the way--Hi everyone!!

I think if anything stats are good for showcasing your talent if you are looking for a clan. Of course, once you have accomplished your goal of joining a clan, stats shouldnt matter at all. It's really just another way of providing a new challenge. Like the new special skills, there is always a new way to be challenged in this game and for that we should be thankful. It keeps the game from becoming stale. Fortunately, with stats, you don't have to challenge yourself to beat others. You either care about them or not.
As for engy's being cheap to gather stats, well that is a general statement. I for instance, am in the top five now and may be 50 tomorrow but I didn't get there by hiding behind my guns. I set up to defend a station to fall back too but then I attack with everyone else. Engys are very good offensively with or without guns. Someone said this is war? Well, you can't have a war without defense. What good is a boxer that can't block?
I appreciate the ones who charge relentlessly to score points for the team, hell I love to do it too! Stats do not earn respect for skill, actual in game play does. So if the enemy starts to overcome you but is stopped by the awesome d of a lone engy, give props where props are due stats or no stats.

I find that hard to believe Omega Sin because last time I played against you, you were literally checking your stats every 30 seconds. I've never seen somebody write /skill so much in my life.

Thanks for the support guys but I wouldn't go as far as totally not caring about stats I'm just gonna get real good at playing reckless and have a spot in the top when I get crayZ enough to make it that far (if that's possible) and yea omega was there that game on acropolis2 and I came in and heard Jac say that u were totally obsessed with stats but then he stopped so lay off jac he's learnt his lesson just like I've learnt mine

I would agree with Whodaman. I will charge any defense. If I run out of nades or my nades don't hit their target, hell my knife will just have to do the job as best as possible. After I had read a post by Greebo, about taking out SGs with a knife I have become a big proponent of doing so. To tell you the truth I have destroyed more SGs witht he knife then SGs that have killed me when trying to take them out w/ the knife. Level 3 are pretty hard though, but those little wimpy level 1 are easy to take. The way I look at it is that by the time your team is trying to cap 2 & 3 it just isn't worth the time to run back for nades. So you just might as well do everything possible with what you have to help your team. Simple enough. I know I am not good enough to be a top tier player, so why bother trying and getting fustrated.

Actually pornstar - quick top tip for you - circle the level 3's with nail gun - they can't keep up (just don't run too fast or you'll end up in front of the guns again)
