OK, so I've been laid up for a few days, and looking to be laid up for at least another couple of weeks. In that time I have made a web-site, re-made said web-site, and redecorated again. Now, Since I have received the praise and adulation of my friends (who wouldn't tell me it sucked if I paid them), I would like to know from relative strangers, so if anyone doesn't mind taking a peek at my web-site and letting me know how it is, please do. Also, since I suck at web design in general, any helpful hints would be greatly appreciated.

P.S. I have no background in programming and couldn't read code to save my life.

it's actualy a good page d00d. What program did you use Frontpage? I personaly used Geocities page builder can't get much more basic than that. Theres alot of jar heads in your pix, i take it you are in the service yourself. Now if you want a bad web page this is where it's at http://www.geocities.com/shibby_king yea i made that in maybe an hour and i update it almost never.

Thanks for the remarks so far guys. I have run into a problem tho, I was inspired by the song of the week here, so I thought I might like to do something similar on my site. Well, I got the files onto the server, and I had the streaming media thingee there on the page, but it won't play. Do I need to increase the buffer size? or is it something else I need to do?

As for when was I in Tora Bora. Well, um, you see, I never got down to TB. I was sent to Kabul (Dec '01)as part of the guard force for the embassy. The hilltop you can see in the picture is smack dab in the middle of the city, it also has a huge diving complex built by the russians on it. I never even got shot at. I did have to talk to a lot of people, and was one of the few people who could run around Kabul un-escorted. It might have had something to do with being able to speak their language.

Funny tidbit about the U.S. embassy in Afghanistan. It was apparently built on a graveyard. When the contractors went to dig hole for the new septic tanks, they found several skeletons of what were believed to be russians. No coffins, and only about four feet down. Does no one watch Poltergeist anymore?!?!?!?!?!

Delete frontpage from your computer and then start over and then you'll have a kick ass website. Not too bad for a first try but the sooner you move away from frontpage the secksier that your site will be.

Additionally, no matter what program you use the viewer should never ever ever have to use their browsers back button. Provide a uniform menu for your whole site - it'll make it much more accessiable.

Thanks for the input Torak, I've actually been getting annoyed with FP cause it continues to do silly things with my buttons. I agree about the back button thing being a problem, but I don't know how to fix it, HTML or otherwise.

If you can recommend an HTML learning tool or something, I'd be forever grateful.

thanks Mongoose_Slayer, I've checked out the link you gave me, and I now know more than I ever thought possible (which isn't all that much when you think about it, but it's a start)!!
