CD Key question

Before any one tries to flame me Yes I have bought the full version well over a year ago.

now thats out of the way, I have a question. Im going to be reformatting my OS and doing a fresh install as ive been running slow and its about that time, but my problem is that when I moved last month I cant for the life of me find my CD case that has my CD key on it so I can reinstall HL when im back up and running. What my question is, Can I go into the registry and find that value much like you can with windows OS keys, and If so where?

its not like im too cheap to go buy another copy, but I just wanted to check and see if this can be avoided before I do so since I figure that info should be on my computer somewhere already.

Yeah, you can get it in the registry, not sure the exact path, look it up on the internet or later I'll find it for you...

This is from my Windows 2000 box.

HKCU\Software\Valve\Half-Life\Settings

There is a key value listed there that contains my cd key.
