i DL'ed the alpha, and all i can say is wow ... its insane...and very very scary...i wouldnt play it in a dark room heh.... you can get it at http://users.adelphia.net/~nrgonline/doom3/ but youll need quite a bit of computing power to run it...look what it did to my comp lol...but oh man i cant wait for this game! (even though ill probbably have to get a new computer to play it ;p )

oh i forgot to say the .rar file you need to DL is 350mb or so, and when you unrar it its 1.08GB...ouch! |

Yeah that memory usage is from the programmable shaders. That means real time shadows and reflection to give it a superrealistic look. Unfortunately it uses alot of memory and all. Plus that's the Alpha version leak....it's not done or optimized yet so when it's done sometime next summer it will run better, but still don't expect to run it on a 1000Mhz or less very well. Thanks for the link pond, I'm DL'n it now. I noticed that it was running at 16fps...what r the specs of yer comp? I'm tryin to figure out what kind of performance I'll get...TIA

lol yeah quite the low fps...i got 1000fps on the "loading" screen though hehe, but if i kept shooting a corpse i could get down to 4fps..yuck..and thast at 800x600 res
i have an amd 1700xp @1.51GHz
1024mb pc2100 ram
radeon8500 64mb video card
40gb 7200rpm HD that it was installed on _________________ my pic host-age died!
