arg...well to top off an already terrible day i come home to find somone was usign my computer and fuX0red it all up- turned all my mp3 and image files into .vbs, and i cant see a ton of files anymore even though it says they are there... damn it all, need to reformat and whatnot so my tfc is out of comisson for a bit, great just in time for a 4day weekend... meh whatever, it happens...later everybody

Uh...Pond...if it turned those files into .vbs' you are majorly infected with a virus. The name of this particular one slips my mind but reformatting and starting over is the only way for you to be sure it's gone. Sux0rz Dude.

He's right Pondscum. Happened to me about a year ago. If you have an anti virus package, upgrade the definitions, and it should clean it for you.

yeah i know its a virus...i also keep getting these messages about something trying to acess MS Outlook's addressbook... ugh...do you know any free antivirus stuff one could dl? i dotn have any heh

ooh word thx... it found a bunch of loveletter-for-you virus infected pictures... those files are gone now, but a ton of files are still not visible, but they are takign up space..hmm slowly getting there!

try to find a trial version of norton antivirus and put a crack on it. And for the files that you can't see. open a map and go to extra, then click mapoptions and then normally the second tab. and at the bottom of that list there are 2 dots(one filled up) click on the one that sais show hidden files. then press ok and then you should be able to see all the hidden files on your computer.

If you dont feel like using cracks...

Go to www.grisoft.com and download AVG 6.0. It's free. No trials, etc.

It works well also.

HOT DIGGITY DAMN it fixed it...i halready had hidden files showing, but not windows system files...for some reason my computer thinks half of my mp3s are windows system files now, but they work fine and i DONT have to reformat for a little while longer anyway
