Best Download accelerator/Best Internet Tweaking program

I am looking into downloading a good download accelerator. I don't want one with ads or has to be registered or costs money. I would also like to know what is the best program for tweaking the internet connection for better results with both downloads and lag.

That is for DSL BRN, I'd highly recommend you do not try any download accelerators for 56k. I have my DSL modem tweaked, but 56k should be fine as is. Besides, TFC runs over the UDP protocol which is completely different than the download accelerators for 56k or DSL.

The main reason that I would want a download accelerator is for downloading large files and resuming the download in case it is stopped.

I also wanted a tweaking program for 56k modem which was a completely different request than the download accelerator.

borg i use DAP (Download Accelerator Plus) i use i for big files, so i can resume the download whenever i connect.

Try Getright. http://www.getright.com
It's "Shareware", but not time-limited, so you get to use it for as long as you wish. It's also good for catching downloads from awkward sites that click themselves into Windows Download.

http://www.speedguide.net/ has a free utility that let's you modify your
registry that automatically. Multiple connection choices.. Follow the tweaks
and you will be cruising.
