Knowing your ping before you enter the game

I'm not sure how many people might know this so I figured I'd post it. There is a way that you can have the actual ping # displayed in your game server menu. This is how you do it.

Go to your desktop and right click on your TFC icon, click properties, now where it says Target you will want to add the word numericping. This is an example of what mine looks like.

C:\SIERRA\Half-Life\hl.exe -console -numericping -game tfc -

**Notice the dashes in between all the words. They are critical so just make sure it looks like mine.** With this addition you can view the actual ping # right next to the green bar, or red if you are pinging bad. It's a handy little tool to know how good your ping is before you actually get there.

i while ago, when i still used the in-game HL browser, i noticed that AHL said the numebr pings and poked around in the shortcut and saw that...the num ers are sooo much better than colorey circles... cool tip!
