That was a lot of fun Buc. I'm glad to help out and have fun with friedlies every chance I get. The funny thing is I was pinging better than you on your server and I'm in Vega$.

I have set up a firewall for the cvar please tey and connect and let me know if you can get on. It has been up and sown all day. At this time the map is warpath running for 24 hours.  (just for testing!) |

there is not much you can do for lag spikes but relax through them!! i thank you for letting me come and try to help you out last night or a day ago with your server!!! try and get adminmod and see what you can do about looking around for fixing problems with lag and things others do have answers that i might not  :-<.. but anyways will look forward to more fun and hopefully a better time for you and maybe on the weekends  ... |

I cant belive it. SOmone hacked the server? I expected as much. This was kind of like a honey pot. I posted all the info that was needed and an induvidule took full advantage of it. This was my main concern for setting this up. server is gone for now. Sorry all. Let me see what I can do about better security and then I wll try to get it back up again. Just so you know. I belive the spectater hack was used. I have not finshed looking at the audit files on win2k yet.

thanks for keeping me and everybody else up to date on your server.. nexttime don't post the rcon that is what would crash it every time from what i heard from my cousin who plays hl... will be checking back for info on how things are going or u can pm as to any questions for help if i can  ... you take care hun and will se u soon buc |

good point and leave the rcon to people you trust in for using the commands thats the best way to go!! i hope to hear how things are going and hopefully it back to running normal soon buc??? |

Where did I post the Rcon? The server is up just with a different IP. I’m trying some kiddy scripts for scanning. Me and the guys form work have found that if someone runs a kiddy port scan on a TFC server you get huge lag spikes! We are trying to get it so that you do not need hlmod or hlguard if that is possible. (I think not) Any way I have not played in a couple of weeks on the ville, been to busy. I am very disappointed that someone would take over a system that was running TFC. We all love this game. That is what is the heart and soul of the ville and every other web site that I have seen form here. I mean come on what do you get from it? I am checking the system everyday. I had cable ran from my desk to the external switch outside the firewall. I mean what was this person thinking? I just had to reach up and pull the cable and the connection was gone. Making what ever they were trying to do not work. The only thing it did was take away a server that people could have played on other then II or III. It is very upsetting and disappointing that someone would be that much of an asshole that you need to protect the game! Very disappointed. There are going to be games that will take TFC's place but I would like to have TFC around as long as possible. I think the more servers for the game the better. If you need to be concerned about people hacking the systems then why put up a server of a game for all to enjoy, and to help the game grow? Man I am sorry for being on my soap box, but it rely is a bunch of bull shit!
