Someone care to help me?

I have been playing elsewhere lately, and have seen a few places, most of them have been the same has the current state of theville. I still have some of my problems, but have been talking to people lately and have figured that part of my problem may be that I just have gotten burnt out of engie and can't play any other class at all. I was hoping that there would be someone out there that would like to help teach me(and maybe be a target at times for aiming purposes) a certain class. I haven't determined what class I would like to learn right now, but I would like to learn all of the classes. If you would like to help me, please post here with what class you would like to help with.

Borg all the classes have strengths and weaknesses. I would suggest reading many of the tutorials at planetfortress.com and other sites to help you better learn the classes.

I would offer to help you learn to snipe but I think you would find your ping would hold you back from doing very well.

I would be glad to share any advice I can on soldier but I am not very good with any of the other classes beyond Solly and Sniper.

Let me know and perhaps we can work something out.

**scratches head** Your not really good at those classes either JD!! JK. Get a hold of me anytime you see me in ICQ Borg and I'll help you out with any class your interested in except Spy. That one I STILL haven't figured out yet. Just let me know.

I too was only good at Engineer when I first started playing, mainly because my old P2-450 could only do about 10-12fps in software mode. I found that Soldier was the class I was next best at, but only once I learned how to predict a player's movement and lead them appropriately with my RPG shots. After I got the hand-eye coordination down I got much better at Medic, HWG, and later, Spy. TheVille has some pretty serious competitors though, so don't be discouraged if you get pwned at a new class when you first start out. You might want to try finding a random pub 2fort server to beat up on some n00b's with a new class.

First and foremost I highly recommend that you get DSL or Cable. Modem is holding you back IMHO. Although some people can do well with modem, I just think they can do much better with a better connection. Borg, if you really want to learn you should learn one thing at a time. Start fresh and then expand your horizons. I remember I first started out as hw and went on from there. I used to play via modem and when I started playing TFC with DSL/Cable I noticed a big difference in my game play. However, people that mastered all the classes and can pwn I have much respect for, but it takes a lot of time and practice to do so. IMHO if you get held back it will just take longer for you to learn the classes. Get a better/stable connection and then start fresh. You can do so much things with a better/stable connection trust me.

For example, you can shoot a lot more bullets as an HW and prime an MIRV nade better without accidently blowing yoruself up. Your rockets as a sol will come out faster too, so it will enable you to point and shoot your enemies more quicker rather than having to guess what your opponent is moving next. 300 ping lag behind a rocket blast is alot more difficult to hit an nme with a steady 50 ping. With a 50 ping it is a lot more easier to hit your nme and prime a nade. 300 ping with lag it is hard to tell when to release your primed nade because it isn't steady. With spy your stabs can react a little quicker, as medic/scout you can conc alot more efficently.

Another tip is spectating good players so you can learn from them. If you do that you'll start to pick up on stragedy and mesh them with your skillz. I recommend you do that since your exploring new servers and stuff. Well, as a gamer it depends how far you want to go with this. If your really comitted to get better your going to have to sacrafice some things. Like your modem LoL. Dump the modem pal trust me

Trigger, what I am trying to do right now is learn to cope with the lag, this is because my parents have strictly said that we aren't going to get dsl/cable here. They like things how they are, that is because they don't have to use it. I will be guarenteed a better connection once I get into college, which will be next year. Nade priming isn't too much of a problem, that is something I can do very good(most of the time). I am just looking for someone who would help, I guess the best term is a mentor.
