Pardon, but allow me to correct your question:

There was no Civil War, it was a War Between the States. Civil War is defined as an attempt to overthrow the government. The southern States seceded from the union and did not make any effort overthrow the government. The Union attacked the South after it had become a seperate nation. There was no attack on Washington D.C. or any type of coop to remove Abraham Lincoln from office.

Now that it is clear, the question should read:
Is theVille's logo / Robert E. Lee from the War between the States?

Thanks Potato, no offense, but I wanted to make sure that everyone knew the truth and not what they try to feed us when we are being institutionalized in public schools. Its all a bunch of dribble much like the media tells us everyday, you have to filter it and take it with a grain of salt...

BTW, JohnCarterofMars, was a confederate Captain in the Virginia Cavalry and damn proud of it! LOL!

Didn't south have a president other then Abe Lincoln though? Lincoln still had final word but what if the South had won? Would the guy end up being president over Lincoln and have allowed slavery?

JCOM, correction

North of the Mason-Dixon line it is known as The Civil War.
South of the Mason-Dixon line is is known as The War Between The States.

Every history class in Chicago (GS, HS, and College) all taught it as the Civil War. I never heard of the southern term until I went to Atlanta in '92.

the south was fighting to be seceded. they elected jefferson davis as a president. so if they won, it most likely would have been a different country.

Actually JCOM, the definition of civil war is a war between factions or regions of the same country, so the "Civil War" was actually a civil war. However it is also called The War Between States, but I'm not sure if that is why. And you're making the north sound like the bad guys, they weren't the ones practicing slavery. And, as far as I know the confederates attacked first, firing on Fort Sumter

Actually, neither side was a badboys and neither were goodboys. The south enslaved people, yes. But just because the north didn't allow slavery meant that they all loved each other. They treated the Africans just as bad as the south did I'm pretty sure.

Oh well, this post isn't a lesson on the war anyway

Regardless of reason or what or how you name it, it was a war of 1/2 to 1 inch lead balls fired at each other head on. Most died from the Surgen...
I can only try to understand and fathom the thoughts of the men actually facing each other on the field of battle.

I also believe that win or lose slavery in the south would of died on its own merits. Just as it has in South Africa. I'm glad it was sooner here as opposed to there.

I will always vote for all to have freedom and pursuit of their dreams.

I always believed that war boiled down to Industrialism vs. Agriculturalism. I won't bore you by going into details. That is just my impression.
