First thing...save a few bucks and empty out the living room. Put a cd player in there, and some disco balls and throw a PPAARRTTAY! Er, I mean, go do all the things decent people do...erm...yeah

Don't forget to decorate. A little dressing up can change a room from a depressing rathole into a pleasant place that you are proud to live in. If you aren't a good decorator, enlist your mother or a lady friend to help. They will enjoy it tremendously.

And don't forget to run around naked once in a while. Enjoy the freedom.

LOL TYO, yeah, if your roommate has a particularly annoying girlfriend, here's what you do: wake up at 3pm regularly, and spend the entire day lounging around the apartment in your boxers. That'll keep her away!

Good call on this one, get nice pictures (not posters, although SOME framed posters are ok) and hang them up. GIRLS LIKE THIS, it makes you look a bit more classy and also gives you something to talk about if your running out of conversational topics and are getting desperate. Plus the writing down of what youve just ran out of is a great Idea as I constantly forget what I went to the store for untill I get home and need to do laundry or something like that, theres nothing more agrivating. and lastly always keep the fridge stocked with beer (but stash some so your roomies dont clean you out) that keeps you from doing stupid things like going on a beer run when you run out and getting DUI's and such. Dont worry about the food too much as you can live off beer and you can mooch food from the P's. lol

Thats it im quiting my job and going back to college, I miss it too much

Everyone has coverd a lot. One thing that I would say is keep the Friends at a minimum. Make sure that your friends respect your place as much as you do. You are no one's maid. If you follow the advice by everyone here you will have a very clean place. Friends are the first ones to trash it. I would watch my room mate and make sure that it is somone that is like you.

I claen as I do things. that way I do not need to clean a lot later. If there is one thing I hate it is cleaning on the weekends. I try to clean during the week. Get the laundry done and the dishes as they are dirty. That kind of stuff. As for ladies, Buy a small wine Rack. You can find them all over the place 5 to 10 dollers. Put it on the kitchen counter. Get a bottle of white zin, baringers is a cheaper one that most women enjoy. White is chilled. Get a botle of chardnay Kindel jackson veintners reserve, also chilled. Then a couple of reds to put in the rack. Red is room temp when drinknig it. No needs to spend a lot of money on wine. It just looks cool. This realy worked for me. Pre wife that is. I was on my own for around 10 years. I would say that just having a clean place and a glass of wine with some low music in the back ground so you can talk will always win you points with the women. Notice women! Not girls! Girls just crack open some bud light and have a good time. Any way to hit on a subject from Hoax. Keep it wraped!!!!!!!!!!

I'm also in the process of moving into my apt this week. I can't forget I forgot this....tell people where you're living...and your phone number. If you don't...nobody will come over and offer to buy you things like pizza and beer. Oh yeah...Go grocery shopping late at night/early morning. (and on a full stomach with a list) I've found that it's the best time to go...no lines and no crowded isles. All you have to contend with are the night crew....but they're usually really nice and are so busy with refilling shelves that they won't even notice you're there. Oh yeah....make sure you get your finances in order and have someone responsible help you keep track of your spending/earning...I'm having my dad help me this time around so I don't have to move home again.....

Like others have said..DO YOUR DISHES AS YOU DIRTY THEM! Otherwise it all piles up and you don't even want to look at them...or smell them. Having lived with 8 other people last year...none of whom wanted to do any dishes but the 1 or 2 that they could identify as being used by them...I know how bad a kitchen can get.... For the sake of the ladies in your life...keep everything clean. Oh yeah...keep some wine too....chicks dig wine...and light beer.

You guys are thinking way to much.

Forget the furniture..it only gets broken...dont pay the rent, there is another apartment just down the street... the only thing the fridge is for is beer. leave empties just outside the front window you have removed the screen from. (bums will thank you for it.) blast music at all hours ( your neighbors will appreciate the free music) use pizza boxes on the floor so you dont have to vacuum, just add more as needed. (sell vacuum for beer)

Remove the oil pan from your cars block and leave the mess right where it belongs... in your neighbors spot! You wont be needing a car because driniking is a full time sport.

dont let your parents in.........ever!

and most of all never leave the seat down on the toilet, its not your ass hitting the cold porcilin! It gives you something to talk about with that drunk thing over there some may refer to as a girl....yeah right!

Now listen to all the good advice and not the weird people I have know and remember have fun and protect yourself, the world has lots of people in it that wants your stuff and are creative in how they get it. Just figure anything you have is up for grabs and expect it to be taken at some point.
