Well Nanite is going to be wandering through Eastern Canada with some of his friends in October.

A couple questions for <TVB>Canada or any other Canuck that might be reading this.

1. What's the tempature like in Mid-October?
2. Going to be in Nova Scotia, Newfoundland, Quebec, etc. What should we be doing?
3. Can I get these Tim Horton's I keep reading about in Canada?
4. Real boner question here, do I need to xchange currency?

Nanite thanks you for all responses helpful and sarcastic.

THe averages for the east coast are :

Temp: 0C to 10C 5 being average
Rainfall: 65 mm
Snowfall: 9cm
As a rule that time of year the snow falls and is gone the next day so there shouldnt be alot of it on the ground.

Eating lobster.

LoL, cya Nanite

Beware, note that Canada is outside of the US, meaning that they too like the rest of the world use the METRIC system. (OMG )

US still uses teh British standard system (pounds)

So their soda machines and stuff will have like bottles that say 20mL instead of Fluid Ounces. It was so weird the first time i saw it.

Watch out for those Hockey riots when you come to Quebec .

Actually it's been pretty warm here in Montreal lately, last week we hit a high of about 30 (Celcius) I think that's about 80 something F. but i'm too lazy to figure it out. It's started to cool down though. We had 24 degree weather today, and our last couple of winter/autumns have been pretty warm. Don't forget to get lots and lots of Canadian beer while you are here (it helps fuel our economy) You can probably get some nice Cuban cigars while you're at it.

If you're in Montreal, the most fun thing to do (obviously) is to give me lots of American currency, a Geforce4 would be nice too but money is always welcome.

[edit] Btw there are very few Tim Horton's in Quebec, the French are still pretty pissed off about that whole war that they lost 200 years ago, so you won't find many Tim Horton's, nor many English signs in Quebec. (don't get me started on those damn language laws) Bring a French English dictionnary. [/edit]

Hmmmm, ok here is JD's advice.

Exchange your money before you go and bring Canadian Dollar travelers cheques if you can, easiest way to get by.

The weather can vairy greatly in October, it can be quite warm or it can be bitterly cold. Prepare for both options and visit www.theweathernetwork.com and check out the weather for some of the cities your planning on visiting about a week in advance to see their forcasts so you know what to be prepared for.

Tim Hortons in Quebec are far and few between as was previously said, the other Provinces would be your best bet.

There are lots to see and do in the various places your planning on visiting. Your coming late so you wont have to fight with many tourists in many of the areas. Get some travel guides from your local AAA to find out about all the various attractions and I am sure you will find some that you like.

It might be too late but I do know that the season changes in Northern Quebec are awsome. The forests are incredible to look at with all the colors of the leaves changing so be sure to bring a camera and lots of film.

Thats about all from JD.

Later

Thanx everybody. We are going to plan a Western Canada trip next year in October. I'd love to go through the Canadian Rockies, visit Edmonton, Winnipeg, Vancouver. Looks like I might have to wait to get Tim Horton's a whole nother year.
