I have decided (after llamaball (murderball) often ends in failure) that I am going to create my own version of that map. I was just wondering what people thoght of this before I did it. Does any one have any ideas about what the map should / shouldn't have in it? Any ideas are fine. I will be using worldcraft to make the map. And will probably use the base textures for TFC. I wil post the map specs on [RS]'s website and will post the link here asap.

I have designed the map. I have added a page about it on [RS]'s website. You can see the specs under the Map section. This is not by anymeans the final design. I will be changing it as I build the map. I will have some screenshots soon of the actual map with the textures.

Tell me what you think, it will help in the final design.

Ok the reason TFC maps restart if you launch them straight from console is due to some missing multiplayer thing - what the console is trying to do is to launch a Halflife multiplayer thing.
Best way to avoid it is to launch a LAN multiplayers game (you act as server) for the map.

If people want more help with mapping I'm happy to provide it, or links to places that will also help

FYI: to not have the map restart change teams when you die. So if you are on blue and you die, go to red, die, then back to blue.

Okay, I have some useful URLs that you guys can use. I got the TF2 textures from the Sierra Half-Life SDK (about 100MB) it comes with World Craft. I will add the TF and TF2 wads to my website and have it as a download ASAP. I use the World Craft 3.3 (3.4 is out but I don't know where to get it). Go to valve's website here: http://www.valve-erc.com/ to get your hands on it.

Handy Vandal (or is it el I don't know how to spell it) is also a good resource. You can find the site here: http://www.karljones.com/halflife/almanac.asp.

I will add some tuts on [RS]'s website too, when I get the time. I lost some of the roofs that I was adding in the level today when I got an error so I have been set back by about an hour or so. Zoner's tools are extreamly hard to use. I tried them and Icouldn't get them to work either. I just use World Craft's compiling. If you set it up right (as on valve's website) you shouldn't have any probs.

Hope the links help.

Okay, the wad files are like 8mb or so. I can't load em on to my website cause it take way too long. For me under my TFC folder (under c:\sierra\half-life\tfc) I have the two wad files. They should be there if not then just look to see if you can "view entire contents of folder". The textures for TF2 are used in some maps so you should be able to see them under TFC.

Sorry about not having it on my website .

I redesigned the respawn... I added roofs instead of the wood I had around it before. I have added decals to the level too, like doors and windows. I just have to figure out how to let them load in the game. For some reason they don't... Oh well, I am going to try to get the main level done in the next few days.
