Viruses are traced back to the sender. From there, if it is a "piggyback" virus, they foloow that one to the sender. . etc etc. It can be a federal offense. They take their job very seriously.

First, I think it totally sucks that you were led on like that. I'm not exactly a real touchy feely person or anything, but messing around with someone regardless of how crappy it makes them feel, truly sucks. Totally aside from Darkwor or TVB, I'm just truly sorry you went through that.

Secondly, a word about viruses. The people who make these things are pretty clever about it. They know how Microsoft Outlook and IM programs work. So they send emails or messages with attachments to everyone in your address book and then delete the sent mail, so you don't even know it happened. I don't think Albino was trying to suggest you did anything wrong, only that you might be the victim of a virus. And before we go saying its Darkwor's fault, we should realize that he might not know he had it either. In any case, I would seriously suggest updating your virus definitions right away and doing a full scan of your PC. There are websites for free scans if you don't already have a virus scanner.

I remember the original big virus. When Microsoft didn't have a virus scan in windows and no one even thought about defeloping one... That was great. So many people got infected. Well actually it wasn't so great. But its funny 'cause microsoft didn't expect it. Didn't some of their computers get infected or something? I know I know its wrong but its so funny if you think about it. Who ever did that was smart.

KRG, calm down, I'm sure it wasn't him. I get about 5 viruses every single day. (the empty email that takes up 150k. hotmail automatically gets rid of the attachment, but it still fills up the box which is really annoying). These come from sites i've registered at, and i KNOW they are not being sent by them. if one computer gets infected, it sends out email with virus pretending to be that person. Unfortunately, hotmail also erases headers, so i can't trace it back, but what im saying it, just cause it says its from him doesn't mean he sent it. he's not gonna go to prison for being infected with a virus that frames him.

I doubt it was intentional.

We do have a personal message service here on our site that can avoid this problem. Why not just use this and avoid the chance of getting a virus via e-mail?

How you got the impression that I was accusing anyone, I'll never now. I was simply saying that is is illegal and has stiff punishment. I don't recall ever uttering anyone's name. I wonder if anyone actually reads my posts sometimes.

Antispy, I really didn't think it was done purposely by you. Just wanted you to know what I got and for you to be careful of what is on your system or who might be sending these to you. Someone could use your username on a free email service trying to get someone upset with you. It did give me the brad_eagle02 as the sender, is all I am saying. I will post the properties of the email if needed to you in a p.m. It happened at work, so it will have to be tomorrow. Just kind of funny that you have a run-in with darkwor/natemc11/nate11 and the next day I get this. If I didn't read this post, I would have never known who brad_eagle02 was. Just wanted to post it here, just in case someone else got something and they can reply also. This happened to Torak a while back with me also. He got it cleared up. No problem.

I have a little word about virus. But it is not by email. some files you download. I.E like maps and stuff. They could have virus in them. I downloaded a file once and I had about 3000-4000 virus. So those you have to whatch out for too.

Hey anti-spy, I am sorry someone would betray u like this. It is horribly cruel, and I know exactly how u feel. Please accept my deepest apologies. Now, this virus thing is very strange. Ill have my dad look at it(computer security, IBM) and try and figure it out. Maby we can reach a resolution here....
