I noticed this morning in the forum page that the last registered user was a guy named winship. Now his name is on this hack sig. Who knows.... at least the page is still up.

Yes, Somebody found the secruity hole in PHPBB. No big deal. It was fixed in 2 minutes. I upgraded to the newer version which has less security holes.

Actually Monk, "hackers" have automated scanning tools which scour the web for known security holes. For example they would check for /phpBB at http://www.theville.org. If it existed they have a very likely target since most administrators (not singling you out here Rob) don't keep up with the latest releases of software. It really has nothing to do with someone who doesn't like TheVille. They probably don't even play TFC.

There are at least 50-75 hack attempts everyday done by these scanners. If we we're running IIS instead of Apache, it would be a disaster.
