Best tip ever: Find someone who has nothing to do, at all, and get them to help you. If you can't manage that, then play with people slightly better than you but not too much better (getting a smack down doesn't teach much most of the time), and just watch and learn.
Or you can take the easy way out and DL some h4x, that always works. Just kidding. _________________

Make sure you know where respawn areas are, nothing gets the regs annoyed quicker than if your fragging in respawn _________________

| I personally suggest starting as engy. IMO it teaches you the key consepts of the game the best. Building the sg and repairing it keeps you on your toes, and teaches you the map (for D atleast) the best IMO. Then you have your supershotgun, which is the most used gun, and practacing with it when you are an engy will help your aim for most classes greatly. Engy also have emp grenades that do not have much splash damage (except if there are ammo bags on the ground), so if you learn how to hit people well with them, then you should be set when it comes to other nades such as normal grenades, and mirv grenades which have a lot higher splash damage. |

Never give up. I know that when I started playing TFC I really wanted to give up. Its so hard sometimes. But eventually you get one kill, then another. Before you know it your killing everything thats moving thats the opposite colour of you. Oh and don't cheat, it takes the fun out of the game .

i agree
pete i started myself with engi/hw
and i've stuck with them -- i suppose i should try to learn some other classes -- i learned sniper and i can somtimz be quite good with the sniper but i alwasy end up switching back to either hw or engi
and the longer u stick with one class the better you'll become at it (obviously -- lol) so i would sygesst that you choice a class to start of with and stick with it untill you become comfortable playing and then mayby think about switching to a class u would prefer to play _________________

Welcome to the Ville. All these talented folks have given great advice. If I can assist you, let me know. If I can recommend one thing, please make sure that your spelling and grammar are accurate and concise. And, if you have any influence over him, work on Bobin's also.
Oh, and I would say HW is the best thing to start with. Once you get the hang of what button does what, and what the feel of the game actually is, then you can move on to different classes. _________________

Look, it isn't hard to spell check. There are many free editors out there. I personally use Microsoft Word if I have a post with spelling problems. We don't mind a typo here and a typo there...but, it is much nicer (and people respond more kindly to your posts) if they can actually read them! _________________ The most hated.

It couldn't have killed you to type that. It makes sense and can be read. If all your posts were like this no one would care you typed her instead of here and didn't use any punctuation. Make it easy to read and they will come. _________________

Ok now,
Lay off of bobins! I'll bite you! I'll bite you where it hurts! Where ever that is? He's a good guy, lets not go ribbing him too much. Let's just kill him a lot in game! MUAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Can you spell respawn? LMAO! Ok, just getting one more poke. Sorry bobins, we're just messing with ya man. If you start to get pissed, let us know and we'll stop. _________________ Recipient of POTM award

Best advice I've seen all day.
Also don't give up if you are striving to acomplish something... That just delays it. I'm the king of procrastination, but i know in the end it's not for the best. Maybe someday you will own me. (Because i'm slacking off. )
Aka, listen to potater, he knows what he's talking about. _________________

Bobins,
My comments were meant as a gentle tease, no offense. Please accept my apologies.
I would point out, though, that considering your considerable posting energy, it would be easier to enjoy the content of your posts if you were more careful about typing your thoughts.
Just my view. I certainly don't want to insult you. _________________
