the biggest one at learning in the beginning also is called typo kills hhehehe i found that out real quick... and i have been playing tfc since 1998 or 1999 for 3 years and i still am not perfect... the second is ask ppl what there playing and they will tell you sometimes.. when you here a beep beep and its turning around thats a sentry gun = sg for short
but the point is that bada bing put you in the right place to look for information on the skills to use best for your talents!!! everybody or regular villuns and the admins know me and my skills
other points is watch your back door sometimes ppl sneak in that way
hi and welcome to the ville forums and nice to meet you.. any questions about me bobins can tell you who i am and my two names i go by.. one i use here in forums and games ..
anyways welcome to the beginning of your tfc - team fortress days ragarock |

I think I saw you playing today...I was under the alias noski|l|z, you didn't look too bad.
Not all servers are the same. Different ones have different rules and cater to different playing styles. Some servers are 24/7 2fort. *Most* of these servers are very "noobish" and are great if you are trying to learn a particular technique or practice a certain class. (or learn) I know I started off as a engy on 2fort and have worked my way to the player that I am today.
Some of the easier classes to learn straight out of the box are HW, engy, and soldier. I would probably say start with HW because it is much less frusterating if you don't die as much when you start. As you get more experienced you'll probably want to learn "lighter" classes as they tend to be a lot of fun also.
Some quick tips...First off find a keyboard setup that is easy for you to use. I really like a wasd setup, it is really easy to use and pretty efficent.
w - forward
a - strafe left
s - backward
d - strafe right
Definatly want to use mouse1 as you weapon attack. A lot of people use spacebar for jump, personally I use mousewheel. Find a setup that works for you though...and then practice practice practice, until you can "feel" your keys.
Whatever class you want to play *THE MOST* important aspect is grenades. A regular grenade does massive ammounts of damage. Make sure that your 'nade keys are easy to reach and that you can keep moving while you *hold* a grenade. Now, as appealing as spamming all your 'nades can be...more than likely you will want to develop precision control over them. You can hold your grenade as long as you wish. You can even hold it too long and it go off in your hand. However most times holding it to about 3 beeps and then releasing it is the ticket...unless the enemy is really close, or really far away. Don't forget to use both kinds of grenades (some classes secondary 'nade is more powerful than their first).
AIM. Learn to aim. Practice aiming. Study how an enemy will move. Learn where they like to attack from. If you are defending a position find the place that the enemy runs through 9/10 times and park yourself there. If you play HW a lot learn how to use your girth to keep an enemy in front of your AC for as long as possible. A little bit advanced, get new crosshairs...the valve std. ones suck hard. If you talk to me on IRC (I idle in #theville and #clan_eP I'll help you with them.)
Above all else don't get discouraged. If someone is whipping your butt, figure out how they are doing it and use it on them.
Good luck. _________________ The most hated.

I think Torak did an excellent job explaining many things that I was going to say myself. But here's a few more things to keep in mind.
1. Learn the maps. If you know a map better than someone else you have a huge advantage over them. There's always a variety of ways to attack. Spend some time in LAN games to learn a map, believe me it will definetly be to your advantage.
2. Watch others. Very many people around here are very skilled and almost all of them are willing to help. If you see someone do something in game, keep them in mind and you can come here and ask them.
3. Never stop moving. If your standing still then your doing something wrong most of the time. The only exceptions being if your playing sniper or disguising as a spy. Whether your moving towards the enemy or going to get health packs don't stand still. Jumping and straffing make you a much harder target for anyone to hit.
4. Don't be an asshole. No one likes it and it's rule #1
gg I'll see you around. Feel free to contact me, I have virtually every chat program as you can see below and I idle in #theville on irc. _________________ "Don't be so humble - you are not that great."

WD, what class do you play as?
For every class in TFC there are bound to be multiple regulars here who play that class often and would be willing to help and offer some tips to help you improve (except the mean ones ). |

I would also try out all the classes a little bit each. This will not only help you find your best class but also help you figure out how to handle those kinds of enemies. I myself don't like the faster classes... I'm too spastic. But I don't like HW much either... I'm too impatient. For me, Soldier is juuuuusst right.
Good luck, I hope to see you online.

I know your bobins friend. I don't know the name you switched from but he should have taught you fowl language is unacceptible. That goes for in game and in the forums.
Rule #1
Respect your fellow villuns
Rule #2
Respect the Admins even more. They work hard to give us this place
Rule #3
Don't be a llama
Rule #4
No respawn camping or infecting and yes respawn moves on Avanti
Murderball Rule #1
Don't kill the team without the ball
Murderball Rule #2
Don't Hawk the ballpad. You are fair game
Murderball Rule #3
Don't build sgs/place detpacks in the yard
General Advice
Kill bobins as often as possible. Pheer my golden steel. It has led to many bobins deaths at my hands.
Welcome Aboard
