since about tuesday the ville 6 has been down i know i posted a topic closed to this 1 i have to say what the hell is taking so long i like tv3 but it doesn't play the maps tv6 does and tv6 gives u a bit more freedom like the command admin_vote_map ;map: but tv3 even has a low command like that plus the people on tv3 don't wanna play maps like murderball spaceball and so on so forth o answer the poll and please tell me what u think of the servers they're maps and the ville

TV6 is warhammers server and it is in a dorm in new york and he is on summer break home. he is waiting for someone that is still there to turn it back on.
Maybe not exact circumstances but close enough

We used to be able to do map votes. Unfortunately, that proved to be way too much for some people to deal with. It got outrageous. There is a good reason we can no longer start map votes... and I thank the admins every day that we can't!

Lol I must lead an interesting double life!
While it is my server and is in NY, I now live in GA so the server is not at my immediate disposal. It's in our NY office and I need the network guys up there to figure out what's wrong with it. I have been extremely busy in the office since the server has been down so I haven't had a chance to talk to them about it. I hope to get it up Monday barring any legitimate reasons why it's down. |

Ah you know what, this is what happened with TV5 (Tarzan's old server). Tarzan is/was at RIT (TFC University) and things would always go wacky with the server while he was away. |

I think the main problem with mapvotes is that they get abused by people. That is why I like it how things are. Most of the time there is a friendly admin around who puts up map votes and if they win, then the map gets changed.

i think map votin can be fun but sometims u end up playin on a map that maybe not to ur likin but i dont mind (im just there to play tf)i the ville ussually has good maps runnin

The problem with the mapvotes was that the same map would be voted in over and over again or the map would keep getting attempted at being voted in. There were most likely other problems that I didn't realize.

THANKS FOR THE INFO WARHAMMER o and warhammers server sorta alows mapvotes using admin_vote_map command it doesn't get abused its a pretty good system

The system has been abused and it does happen. Read some of the threads about tayconc being played a lot. People vote in tayconc time and time again. I believe they took tayconc off the server for that reason, but that is an example of it getting abused.

...oh yea...and of COURSE we have enough freedom, it's called the option to LEAVE the server, if you dont like it then go to another Ville server or something |
