Not neccessarily true that its always faster but it for sure is more reliable.

and for getting a job,,,, I recommend sitting on the corner begging for change, hell the guys that do that on the off ramp of the expressway here in chicago probably make more money than I do.

I know that this is stated frequently--that cable is better than DSL--but I am not sure I believe it. I have had my DSL service 9 months and have only had one time where I have had a problem. (Down for 6 hours from 2 am to 8 am local due to storm damage which left our local cable off for 26 hours.) Even at 2 am when the system went down, I was able to get to talk to a "real person" about the issue--I have yet to talk to a real person when reporting problems with our cable system. I have friends who say that their cable is very reliable, only being down once or twice a month--well I think once in 9 months is better.

Am I promoting DSL over cable--no. The only broadband service in my area is DSL, so really I have no experience with cable other than with other peoples' computers (my brother and friends). Our cable provider is capable of providing broadband, but chooses not to. But if you are seriously interested in broadband, and you have a choice, study the options fully and read reports about both cable and DSL. Determine the pros/cons for each.

Just my off topic 2 cents.

Gl on the job search. I wish I had the schedule that would allow me to get a job, but I wouldn't be able to find an employer that would work around my schedule. It is too chaotic and I don't even know how much time I will have from day to day. Hope you get a better ping soon bobbins.

Yea...your ping was nuts, avging about 400 (yuk)

Maybe Cuz:
1) You live in UK
2) Anything less than 128k is hard to imagine for me....you'll enjoy it...trust me, lol
