Kudos to Roof, and what is good about the Ville.

First off, I have to give an 'atta boy' to Roof. He is having to lock a ton of threads recently it seems. I just want to say thanks to him for doing that. I am sure that is a pain in the butt...so, Roof, thanks...

I am going to go off and play some Warcraft III for a while, as I just bought the game this past weekend. It is very good so far, and I would recommend it to anyone who likes these types of games.

Now, as for all this bad mouthing and stuff, I say just leave the forums for a bit. That is the best way for me to get all cooled down. When I get mad at something said here, I just leave the site and go do something else. You might be surprised to see how little these comments mean really. Just my opinion of course.

And one more thing...I see a lot about what is wrong here, but what about what is right? This is kinda like the news, where all you see is a lot of the bad stuff. Not that that is wrong, but it is nice to see something good too. So, I am going to post what I like about the Ville here...feel free to add your own comments to this. Oh, and this is not in any order at all.

1. Friends...I consider a number of people on here to be friends. I don't do a lot of chatting or anything, but I still think of them as friends.

2. Variety of maps...I think that overall, we have a lot of different maps to play when you want. Not everyone of course, but still a large amount. Even with less servers now, I remember playing with just 2 (Avantiville I and II), so I think this is a good thing.

3. Skill level...There are some darn good players on here, and new ones show up all the time. You want to play with some of the best, then just come here.

4. Regs...Yeah, all the many players that make up the Ville. You have all kinds, from those who are serious and quiet, to those that cut-up and talk often. We have some who stay just one class, and others that will play random. You want a crowbar battle, just ask, somebody will step up for it.

5. Admins...They get knocked often, but I think that some of the best admins in all of TFC are here. There is no money to be had, but they all do try I believe. There are going to be days where they have a bad time, but overall, you can't ask for a more dedicated group of guys and gals.

6. Fun...Maybe a little redundant, but that is still fine. Fun, that is why I came to play TFC in the first place. I came to the Ville originally because it had Avanti playing. I was impressed with the players on the server, and there were no llamas. After a couple of times playing, I got hooked here. I imagine, most of you ended up here because it was fun too. I still enjoy it now, and I hope most of you do too.

7. Map nights...I know I didn't play in them very much, but I lot of you did. The ones I did play in were great, and not a lot of places do that. I am glad that we have such a place to have map tests and just little fun games.

I am sure that I have forgotten many things in this list...so feel free to add to it. So, the next time you are ticked at something about the Ville, maybe just think for a moment before posting it public. Maybe take it to PM first.

I am not saying don't post negative stuff! There are times when it should be posted...I am not a 100% defender of the Ville, and there are things I might not agree with. But do you ever agree completely with people? Probably not...I am willing to overlook the things I don't like to have the many more things I do like here.

Anyway, just my opinion...feel free to flame me. I can handle it just fine.

This is a positive thread right?? I have seen a lot of the same that you were discussing and I've been getting fed up with it myself. As you said, step away from it and when you come back you'll look at it in a new perspective. This is still a fun place to be and as long as it is than there will be plenty of me around. We just need to step away from all the negative stuff that's bothering us and come in game with the sole intention of having a good time. I would have to agree with everything you posted Whatever. My lack of intellegence however would prevent me from adding to your list. I think you covered a lot of good topics. Maybe when I remove my head from my a** I'll add some things to your list.

I was also thinking about posting something in this manner but I think you said it well yourself. If any of you guys were here about 3 or 4 months ago, The Ville went through the same exact thing with bickering and people not getting along, but we "ousted" that after a couple of weeks and everything was back to normal if not better. My advice to all who are feeling brought down with the happenings, just look at is as a stepping stone for the ville to grow and learn from, it will pass because there are too many really great people that make this community what it is today and will also make it what it will grow into tommorrow.

I feel the same and the ville servers is 100 % why I got hooked on playing this game. The sprit of the ville as a whole is IMHO why so many folks want and do play here.
