My computer used to do that when I had WinXP installed, but it didn't "cut off"...it just froze, and I had to do a hard-reset. When I reformatted, reinstalled Win2K and HL, it hasn't frozen once since then. I dunno if you're using XP tho... _________________

It depends if you do a clean install of XP, or simply an upgrade from 98/ME. It isnt supposed to make a difference, but the clean install is reported to work better anyway. Maybe due to old reg keys and files messing things up, such as C:\WINDOWS\System32\u_sux0r_so_i_will_crash.exe |

Yeah, I did a clean install (reformat too). Microsoft claims that WinXP has better support for games, but that's a big fat lie. |
