I have to admit that I am a little lost with the HLTV stuff.
I would like to record a demo of a LAN game that I can watch in the HLTV format (able to free-roam, or trail a player, etc.)
Can it be done?
What do I have to do to do it?
Can I watch any demo with HLTV, or do I have to record it a special way?
Is there a site or README that tells me all this? (I've tried the HLTV readme and these forums - no luck)
If I want to record a demo of myself playing at the ville, with the HLTV abilities, how do I do that?
Man that's a lot of questions! Any help would really be appreciated! _________________

I was told how to do it about a month or so ago but seeing as how my parents did a lot of, ummm ......... it seems to have affected my memory. I believe in console if you type- recorddemo - that it records for ya. I'm sure I'm wrong though. Where's a pen and paper when you need one . _________________

The command is 'record <demoname>'
But, you have to be running a HLTV game first. That I'm not sure about, and I don't think I've ever seen it done on a non-deicated server. Of course, I could be wrong.... _________________

Basically setup a dedicated server. Then run hltv.exe and connect to the server. After you connect type record blah and it will make a HLTV demo called blah-1.dem. After it's done recording you can watch it like normal demos. _________________ The most hated.

So if I'm playing a LAN game on just one computer (me by myself, or me playing against FoxBots), I can't record a HLTV demo? _________________

I'm not sure if you do it with a listen server or not. However, you can run both the game and a dedicated server on the same computer by just having them run on different ports. You should be able to connect the htlv to the dedicated server locally. Try the localhost address of 127.0.0.1 _________________ The most hated.
