ROFL! Ah the memories. Back in H.S., we had a gym class game that was actually called "aqua-violence". You took two kick boards, leaned them on the edge of the pool on the far ends, and you took a water polo ball and had to score by knocking the board over. There were only two rules:
If the person with the ball is being held underwater, once they let go, you have to let them up for air.
If there is a pile-up (like always), once the pile is no longer moving, you had to break it up and do a "free toss" from the instructor.
Dunking, kicking, "extra-curricular activites" underwater... anything was legit. Usually someone would end up bleeding/injured... if not several.
The best part was that the girls would play too!
One time I was a bastard and snuck some swim fins into the pool... that ruled to just blaze past everyone and score... but then I got tossed for being a CHEETUR.
Ah man, Aqua-Violence... now THAT was a game! |

We Had a different variation of Chicken Fighting at my Elementary School. We all climbed over this big bar dome, like the way people did in MaddMax: Beyond Thunderdome. Then people would take turns pairing off vs eachother by hanging down into the dome by their hands like monkeybars and try to dislodge the other person with their legs and feet only to fall to the ground below. You'd get blisters on your hands holding on and swinging around to manuver. Whoever won got to fight the next in line to vs them. I got good at it and dropped a bunch of people. By far the most violent, harmful game I've seen. It was really like Thunderdome, 2 kids enter one kid leaves!
Another game we played was FireAnt Wars! For those of you in the North, FireAnts are about the worst thing you can have attack you, they hurt, then burn, then itch like crazy for days, and can kill you if enough get you. Living in Houston during the Springtime the fireants would come out and our playgrounds would be full of their little mounds. We'd divide into 2 teams and jab sticks into the mounds to Rile the ants up and make them come out. When they were good and riled we would shovel them up onto the ends of the sticks and use them to catapult clumps of dirt and Fireants at the other team, or poke them or whack them with the fireant covered stick. The real good ones were the big branches with leaves and other twigs on them, you could get a whole big bunch of fireants on it and let it fly! Oh the Humanity! _________________ World of Warcraft:

all it consisted of was a tennis ball and a huge wall(we mostly used the handball courts -no sliceys!-)and there would be an order...from the first to last person...the first person would start by throwing the tennis ball as hard as he/she could against the wall and the next person has to catch it and not drop it. if he/she did, then he would have to run as fast as he could to touch the wall before the next person after him picks up the ball and throws it against the wall. if that person tagged the wall before the runner touched the wall then he would get a letter...'B'. it would go on until someone spelled-B.U.T.T.S.U.P. then that person would have to go to the wall...get on his knees...crouch over..displaying his buttocks. and the whole group would get one free shot at his ass.(with the tennis ball!...you freaks) we were 7 when we were playing this. and it was at a catholic school. |
That's sounds like a game at my school called wall ball, though no one gets hurt
But when I was in 5th and 6th grade, my class would play a rather violent game during recess. There were 3 metal bars at different heights, held up by wood posts. Looked something like this
|---|

|---| | | | |
| | | | | |
| | | | | |
The first one was about 5' tall and each one after it was 1' higher. There was also a big wooden bar of similiar setup, except it was about 11' tall. The game started by 3 people climbing on the bars. Once they were up, everyone else would try everything they could (except hitting in the obvious area) to knock the other people down. Once someone was down, everybody would try and claim his/hers bar. While climbing up, you were a target, and would get bashed more then the people on the bars. A little side thing was that people would come up and take things from you such as: shoes, ribbons, hats, shiney objects make-up, socks (when the option presented itself), and just about anything. Then they had to climb up the 11' wood thingy without losing the item. Once on top, people would throw things at them to try and get them to come down, or to make them give back the item. One kid even fell off once. Probably my best memory of the game (didn't really have a name), was when some kid ran up behind me while I was on one of the bars, hooked my legs on his shoulders and pulled me off. He was a little tall, so I ended up doing a backflip off and was able to grab the back of his shirt before he got away and pulled him down with me. Funnier still was that the teachers saw us doing it all the time and didn't even care
[edit] Okay, so my picture didn't work, but they were like monkeybars with only 1 bar [/edit] _________________

I remembered one more game we would play. Leading to the playground was a long wooden bridge. Two people would stand in the middle, grab each other and push as hard as they could. First one to cross their side (behind them) lost and the next 2 people would come up to play. Rules were you couldn't grab the rails, and no one could "help" out (duh). Wasn't too violent until they slipped and changed sides. Then they would ram each other sides to try and turn the other around and ram them again to knock them off. Happened about 3 times every game. Left quite a few bruises and tired you out quickly. Problem was that the fat kids won most of the time
Still fun though. _________________

ah wait..lemme guess....your little brother threw them into the pool without you knowing and it somehow slipped onto your feet.
that sounds like a scary game to be playin in the water!...especially with kids..you know even if they let go of that board...they arent gonna let them up from underwater....lol
"...kids."

hahah..i remember playing that!...a bunch of us 'neighborhood kids' would play that at our neighborhood playground...if we were always losing..we would plan to just stop pushing against them and let them lose their balance. then they started fallin off the bridge so stopped that and made a rule if anyone ever did that again we get to give them bruises beyond belief.
that deserves three head bobs...
and a smile... |

Tag is alright. Problem was, was that not many people wanted to play it. When about 5 of my friends would play, we would taunt each other so that the "it" person would chase them. We were in elementary school (1-4 where I live), so about the best we came up with was saying that they're going to tell a girl that we like them and want to marry them _________________
