Boy that is just one big load o crap ollla. I called a friend who has a dual althlon mp machine 2000+mhz. Plenty of ram and a ti4600 card.
The damn dual processor machine was still not as fast as that gateway.
What a load of carp.

Ya, gateway sux anyway. I would never buy a prebuild machine again. Most ppl are better off just building thier own computers, there really isnt a whole lot to it. |

I've had both and as far as ease of use the prebuilt I have is much easier. I had it built to my specs but is still prebuilt. I had some troubles when I built my own. Seemed like I just kept spending more to try and fix it so I just said screw it, keep it simple. I know I'll get a lot of flack for this but it is a gateway, hehe. But hey, I'm real happy with it's performance so far. _________________

I have a Sony Viao that I've messed with a bit. My old roomate built his own, and had to wait a month to get a new motherboard when his first one came with a non working RAID controller. All while I sat and laughed at his giant monitor and case sitting useless under his desk. |

Actually, for something like TFC, a dual processor machine wouldn't do much good. The code isn't written to be executed on 2 processors, so it wouldn't do diddly. One processor would be running the TFC code, the other would be 99% system idel process, or something similar. To really be efficient, you need code that's written to be run in multiple threads
(correct me if I'm wrong, though) |

I have to pour scorn at that Gateway500 they show us there. I doubt a P4 2.4 would ever reach its full potential when coupled with a Geforce2 MX card |
