As a hardcore anti-scripter it would be easy for me to vote no. However, after reading all the posts about the subject, a few facts have been brought to my attention. You can't have one without the other. You can't allow chat scripts and not allow RJ scripts. I am all for chat scripts like "say team sg down" or "say team incoming spy". Those things truly help everyone on your team. I also remember certain admins using chat scripts that said things like "type buildspecial in your consol" to help noobs without interfering with their gameplay as much. That was a cool thing as well and truly helped many people.
There are two ways you can look at it. You can look at it from a "verteran" standpoint or a "noob" standpoint. If you are a noob and run across someone scripted to the gills, what fun is that? They are doing things that you could barley do if you played for a couple years. That would definately ruin my game as a noob. As a veteran, you can actually hang with the scripted to the gills crowd but occasionally, when you get killed by a quick fifth rocket while your reloading, it can bug you.
Now, I have come to the conclusion that some of the outspoken scripters here actually only use one or two scripts (aside from chat scripts). I've played with them all and I can hang with them. This after lots of practice. I haven't seen Torak, EagleEyes, BigCaulk, or any of the others truly own me because of a script they were using. If I die, I know it's because I got shot! There are a few that are scripted to the gills and that does annoy me. When you can't take five steps without using a script, you have issues.
It's after talking with people like BigCaulk, Torak, and others that I was able to truly get the other side's view. It's hard to see, but if you look at all the script posts, there are some great comments in there. I have never used a script other than binding my ins0 to "buildspecial" for neo a long time ago. I don't use chat scripts now but the team impact is worth giving it a try.
So although I am against scripting yourself to the gills, I have to say "yes" we should continue to allow "some" scripts. _________________ Recipient of POTM award

I agree on the scripted to the gills, you should really try and stay as close to whats default as possible. But IMO a script here and there isnt all that bad, myself I only use the reload one soooo, and suck at solly anyway. heh |

I'll concur with both KRG and Blown as to the people that script 'everything'. I guess what makes it more annoying are people that script things they are incapable of doing on there own. That what really erks me. Like some pansy llama with a RJ who in reality couldn't get to the battlements in 2fart w/o it.
I'm even more excited to see some open mindedness on this topic. I certainly don't expect to come here make a few comments and convert everyone to my way of thinking. I just hope that people don't totally close their minds off to others points of view.
Most of all I'm glad this remaind civil. We're a great community who should be able to agree to disagree and keep having fun playing. That's what's happened and that is good to see. _________________ "Don't be so humble - you are not that great."
