What exactly is the difference between them. My understanding is that a bind is just a simple task, such as calling for medic, sprays, etc.... And a script is something that does multiple cammands by using one key. Is my information correct?? I'm just trying to understand a little better what the proper category would be for each I guess. _________________

A bind can do more than one thing, but not complex things. If you bound w to "+forward;+reload", then it would continually reload, because nothing calls -reload. Aliases are really only needed when you bind 2 things with a "+" in them, or if you want to make a script to change binds aka a nade priming script. I'm sorry if you don't understand, it's the best I can try and explain |

a bind is simply assigning a key a function... a script is a list of functions to be performed on execution.. you can bind a script to a key and so forth... man i can see where this explanation could go on for hours... ill stop here _________________

ABSOLUTELY PERFECT PIC!!!
Thanks Powers, that pic is EXACTLY what I was thinking when I saw the subject heading of this thread. I dunno if you were here several months ago BRN, but we had a HUGE script vs bind thread. I'm sure if you search, you will find it...it was craziness, lasted for a while too.
I am staying whole-heartedly out of this one... _________________ I WAS (back in august of 02) just better than you, thats all.

It was a simple question and this is the big winner with the answer I was looking for. Thanks Jasun.
BTW, I was here a few months ago and remember the thread. However it was speaking waaaaay over my head. I am not that educated as far as the computer goes, programing and such, so I was just looking for clarification so I could understand the difference. Thank you and have a nice day . _________________

Here what you should do. Do a search for a thread called "Script Whores" there's one thread that addresses this issue. There's another one but I can't remember the name of that one. _________________ "Don't be so humble - you are not that great."

Do you people actually read the posts?? I have recieved the information I was looking for. There is no more need to respond to this thread. I can't believe how people here are flipping out over a SIMPLE question. It has been answered.
Nothing more to see here, everybody go home now . _________________
