K, right now i can't play on any of the ville servers 'cept 3. The reason I can't is because my cable company has some bad routers in Fort Worth, Texas that cause my ping to go to about 600. For some reason, TV 1, 2, 4 go through these, but tv 3 does not. This has me wondering: is there a way i can avoid the bad routers located in fort worth? Is there some way to direct where the traffic goes? _________________ "They that can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety" -Ben Franklin

I'm not a router expert, but unless you have your own router and can edit the tables...no there isn't anything you can do. Pretty much left in the hands of your cable company.
Of course, I could be wrong. _________________

Or you could be like me and Charter is having 'bandwith' issues in my area. So any time before 7 o'clock or after 1 AM I ping around 50ish but come prime time I'm lucky if I get below 500.
(btw that's why I'm here right now and not playing) _________________ "Don't be so humble - you are not that great."

The only way you can route traffic around the net despite default routing behavior is to find a known working route, and set up a tunnel to a host on that net, and relay traffic through that tunnel. Then traffic will take a longer route through "better" network and can bypass the problem point.
However, finding the problem point AND a way around it can be rather difficult. |
