Ok Techno-wiz type people (Console crashes)

Since a week ago today my console has been giving me problems.
It started last tuesday for no apparent reason. I brought down my console to join a counterstrike server and it froze up - eventually had to shut it down using crtl-alt-del.
Tried TFC console - same result.
Tried starting single player Halflife - same result.

I've tried reinstalling it both to the same and a different directory but so far no luck.

Anyone heard of this? Know any solutions?

That happened to me today when I was logging on a TFC server. After I rebooted everything went back to normal though.

Gotta use the console - no matter what you do at some point it'll go through the console when connecting to a server.

Try using Regedit - Go to HKey_Local_Machine\software\*.* Scroll down
and delete every reference to HL- Sierra Online and the Valve directorys.

Install the game. Set Half-Life's settings up as usual Max the Resolution of
your video to 800x600 32bit

Install TFC (Very Important) Install the Full Update! Screw the patch.

Reboot!

Go and run normal HL and enter it's setup.
Go to it's Custom Game section. TFC should be listed now. Activate it.
Next- Launch TFC and enter it's Setup.
Go to the Custom Game Menu - Activate TFC if not already highlighted.

Try to play and see if your Console works?
If not, This is the last step, and it's beyond me !
Right Click the TFC icon on the Desk top and make sure that this is at the
very end of your Command Lines String Value -console
