Spy Knifing Tips - Wanted

I played Random last night on TV 1 and found myself in the unfamiliar role of spy. I managed to get into good position for some knifings, but couldn't pull them off in one stroke (ooh that sounds bad).

Now, spies like Danno and others have killed me in one stroke basically from the side. Am I aiming at the wrong spot? Do you need to put the knife just in the right spot to get a backstab kill in one slice? I'm guessing I maybe need to aim more for the head, but any advice would be helpful!

Well I find that it isn't really from the head, I'm not exactly sure how to explain it, but then again I"m no Patten

Although it does seem the area to aim for is just a tad to the left or the right of the middle of the back. However I find that many of my knifings don't come with the first stroke but instead are on the second jab.

Basically when I see myself coming up behind someone when I get about an arms length away I start swinging. I think it also has a lot to do with distance. But like I've said maybe Frag/Silverone/Patten/Michman could explain it better.

The sides and back will give you one hit kills. The important part is not so much where you aim, but when you strike. If your too close to the enemy (right up against him) it will take quite a few hits to take him out. You want to be back one or two steps. Until you get used ot it, it will look like your too far away to hit your enemy, but your not. The farther away you are from your enemy when you hit him, the more damage you will be able to do. This goes for the front of an enemy as well, but you wont be able to get one hit kills.

It also helps to have a bigger knife when being a spy....better yet get a sword! Here's mine

Oh, BTW, this isn't true

I do I have that sword as my knife though

Does the spy strike zone extend past the visual end of the knife? There have been a few times where it seemed like spies were hitting me even though they weren't really close enough.

That explains my problems the other night. I was getting as close as possible before swinging. Now that I know, I may have to try spy a little more. Ugh, I have to work on some binds first though...

Aim about halfway between the spine and kidneys.Like Twisted said the range is important too close the knife won't fully stick in as well.Try it at different ranges and you will notice at the right range the knife fully extends nice and straight.Once you get used to the area to stab and the range you will get it easy.I still haven't seen anyone break my record of 423 stabbings in one day

I knifed and knifed all day long. Got just about 200 kills out of it. Whew. That was a lot of work. Anyway, the 500 wasnt nearly as ease as i thought....

Anyway...I bow down to Badas spy abilities. Heh

Yeah, right to the left of thier backs, kind of in the middle. Dont knife unless your behind em, it doesnt work that well!!!! lol

I think more importantly we should determine why an azzwhole like yourself is still allowed to hang around here. I can't seem to remember anything positive about you being here perhaps someone could refresh my memory.

People are also way more aware of how many good spies play here so spy checking has improved a little
