Does anyone know how to deactivate the windows key on the keyboard. I would rebind it to something else except what it does now- kill my sound.

Ah...the windows button, my arch enemy....

Well, I'm not sure ( it doesn't work for me ) but it does for older computers. Tap the Caps Lock Button about 10 times really wuickly, and it'll get your sound back. It only works on some computers, like my friends'.

Ah, that's a pretty good tip. It'll be great if it does actually work. I usually just restart CS and the sound comes back.

On another note, this AC/DC song is starting to grow on me. Just a little...

Simple fix, take apart your keyboard and actually snip the connectors to the key, just make sure you don't snip something important

(I've looked into this ALOT, I think Macro$tuff just doesn't want to allow you to disable their blessed windows key)

I'm sorry this is for Windows 2000 and Windows NT only

Further in this thread I have a program to download that works for other versions of Windows

Hey guy/girls this is what worked for me... hope it helps.
With Registry edit, you can disable its use:

Hive: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
Key: System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Keyboard Layout
Name: Scancode Map
Data Type: REG_BINARY
Value: 00000000000000000300000000005BE000005CE000000000

You will probably need to create this value, as it is not present by default. You may wish to cut and paste the value from this page to guard against typos. A reboot may be necessary for it to take effect. Of course, use caution and frequent backups whenever you edit the Registry.

Important Note:
If any of this does not make sense to you don't do it get somebody who has a clue to do it for you. Screwing up your registry could mean re-installing Windows

I have an easier solution, Your KB has 2 windows keys.
Locate your dominate hand that does not use the KBoard.
Take a screwdriver and pop the damn thing off. Comes in
handy for a replacement for when your other key gives out.

I know how big of a pain in the ass it can be when hitting this
key while playing

Boo.

When I went to edit the binary value, it wouldn't let me paste that number, then it was pure craziness. I deleted the new entry and exited out of my registry. Hopefully nothing was killed.

If anyone cares to help me out with that reg editting, please IM me, so you can talk me through it step by step. Thanks!
