i read somewhere that they were going to title it 'macross'...but due to previous failures with that name...they decided to stick to robotech because its more recognizable to the dedicated US fans. i hope they make a sequel to this game based on the mospeda series.(screw the hover-tank series)...cant go wrong with the cylcones. |

I don't care as long as they make a damn good one. Almost all of the Japanese ones lately suck. It had better be good. _________________ http://www.chronixradio.com |

There are also three DVD box sets out now of the original Macross series. 3 DVD's per box, 12 episodes each set. $39 per box from Amazon. I've been thinking about getting them for nostalgia purposes (those cartoons were my first introduction to mecha back when I was like 10!) |

woaw!! great minds thing alike, WH. just last month, i bought off of e-bay the 'mospeda series'(box set 6&7) for only 60$. you are so right about it being very nostalgic. i'm going to get the whole collection, eventually, but i needed to re-live the 'cyclones' first... |

IGN interviewed Vicious Cycle Software president Eric Peterson
http://xbox.ign.com/articles/358/358656p1.html
but this is what got me all hot n' bothered :
IGN: Why did you choose the original Macross episodes as opposed to some of the later storylines?
Eric: You have to start somewhere [laughs]. And with as many products that could come out in the future it is best to start at the beginning and work your way through the timeline hitting as many of the coolest periods of the show. Personally, we would love to make a game based on the Cyclones some time in the future. |

I'm 21 and barely remember Robotech being on in the mornings when I was in kindergarden. I've seen a bunch of the Macross movies and various episodes from the series. For a while they had Robotech on Toonami last year, it was nice to see the show on air again. |

Snaggle, if you are a purist, you can check out Animeigo.com to see if you can still get the Macross DVD Collection. That's about as pure as you can get and still be in America (Canada's the same thing to businesses.)
It was $250, but it's the whole series. |

Besides I'm 17, but Robotech/Macross is one of the earliest memories I have. Sweet happiness at the thought! |
