| I have a basic understanding of what HLTV is, but could someone describe it in detail please. Also, do you think it would work well as a replacement for the DoD server (see poll on main page)? |

HLTV
Well once upon a time it was spectator mode on steroids.
Now it's essentially spectator mode.
It enables you to watch others playing, hence the name(Half-life Television).
You can watch in First person (through their "eyes")
You can watch in Third person
You can wander freely around the level as an invisible entity, viewing whatever you want.
You can watch the match in a kind of 2D mode, which has people represented as Circles with crosses in them.
Best option to see what it does is to use it - find one of the HLTV demo's recorded from the ville cup.
