I can't remember who was making it, and because I haven't been here in a while I'm not sure if someone has said anything more about it recently...But is the Ville Map still being made, or did the idea get canned? |

I saw the screens from your map from it's original post, and it looks really cool. I wonder when you'll finish? |

Lightwave/Poser + Worldcraft = nothing.
Worldcraft is years behind Lightwave/Poser and rendered the process of converting files impossible. I tried playing around with Worldcraft but only got more and more frustrated by it's limitations. It requires five times more energy and time than Lightwave/Poser. My time being limited, the map fell into my "to do" file. It's a big file. As Worldcraft is updated with newer technology, I may give it another try. |

I like that slanted hallway. And the shot of the building with the slanted top. _________________ World of Warcraft:

Lightwave/Poser produces this:
That is a pic from a 3-d realm I worked on with my friend. He uses it on the NF site. You can cruise around the entire realm and even enter the houses. It looks kinda crappy when you just snap a photo like that but when properly rendered and viewed in it's 3-D state, it looks amazing. We were creating models in this format when we realized Worldcraft would not except them. We could not even convert them.
We had to make a ton of custom models to do what I wanted to do. That is making models of TheVille store, The site etc. To create an actual "Ville" based map. I still have hope. Maybe somewhere down the line it will be possible. Until then, Pryo has whooped up a very nice map using that infernal program! If I can find a way to convert files that Worldcraft will except, maybe Pyro would toss in the Ville store, Church of TPF, Robert E. Lee memorial. . .etc. |

WorldCraft's newest version is called "Hammer Editor" It has mostly the same functions, so I don't think you get too much help there It would be really cool if you could make maps in a program like the game "The Sims". That interface for making walls and adding entities would be so cool. Really easy to make kick ass maps. Too bad we don't get everything we wish for (especially from valve). |

if you can get model files that work with WC i would gladly toss em in . As for how long till the map is actually finished i cant say. I only work on it when im in a really creative mood, and that doesn't happen very often . I have been building this map since around the middle of summer but its very close to being finished. I was thinking i could use custom textures to make buildings say "The Ville" and such, but i havn't tried using custom textures yet. Guess I'll have something to do tomarrow _________________
