If they were not cheating on the ville, then I do not mind them coming back. I personally don't like applog scannng. If they were caught with an active aimbot or wallhack, then they should be perm banned. As for files and stuff, most the things people are getting caught for (ogc 5, and that guy with vipergl 3 I think), have definate cvars, and if they were currently running the hack would be caught with an active cvar/alias/aimbot (because only the newest cheats get by that detection anyway).

I believe yes, they should have some punishment, we should stick trigger on them. We should tell them flat out to admit to cheating elsewhere, and that they have come clean, etc (I did, and so did erba, it went somewhat nicely for us both). I'm even getting sick of the brother thing. It might be true, but looking at something from your angle if 20 people get banned, and they all say it was their "brother", "grandmother", "father who doesn't know much", "friend", "some distant relative they haven't seen in 20 fing years" I'd be pissed too.

I'm not against banning people for cheating, if they have an active cvar or alias, or aimbot they should be out of here. But for logs I do not believe they should. As for accual cheat files, I'd take a heck of a lot longer making sure the guy doesn't cheat.

Not many n00b tfc servers run cs-guard. Someone might have tried cheating, stopped, and played on n00b servers, stumbled onto our server of 1337ness, and got caught because he's a freaken dumbass.

Lastly, Please please do not make us run cheating death, that is a pain in the arse.

Edit: after reading the thread, my comments.

There are some places where there is cheating regulated and allowed. Most cheating clans all have servers. I know there was one site (I can't find it again to quote it from), that was made by a cheater calling other cheaters who cheat on public servers lame. With the slim case that someone wants to cheat half the time and play here, that *could* be a reason/lame excuse.

Also, while trying to find that link I found the technical reason for applogs, it is with windows 9x (I think ME too), and it is used to make defragging the hard drive better. The lastest cheats no not create applogs, and most past cheats if ran will get caught just as fast, so imo, add some extra cpu cycles and lower everyones lat a little, and kick the applog scanning, it just doesn't make sence imo. It's like a tenth layer guard, and will still let the skilled cheater through.

I think I read somewhere that Cheating-Death does not work with the new steam patch. I'm glad we don't have that here and/or punkbuster too.

Ban them on the server they were caught at. Then if they only have an aplog they can go in remove it and plead thier case here or not it is up to them. If they are really lame they will go to each of or servers and do thier own banning just by logging on.
All of us here need to use a little (OH I hate this statement) common sense when responding to a post on the ban/bans. You all know what I mean :
