Do not attempt it. Do not even think about it. Sooner or later the Cheat Detection programs WILL catch you. And when that happens, all your l337 skills, if any, and any reputation you might have, will be nought. Regardless if you're a regular or not, the same rules will apply!

If you're in doubt about what is in your PC, talk to an admin about it first. We are reasonable. Do not try to beat the system. If you're caught, it'll be your word against the log files.

I do not want to hear excuses from anyone else getting caught because of cheats in their applog. In my book, if the file exists, there was intent, regardless if you had used the cheat or not.

I agree and would like to add one little point. If you know you had a cheat at any time in the past and now have removed it. Do not take the chance of some little file being left behind and getting busted. Format, reinstall and go on. I think this method is the only SURE way to know that that cheat or traces of it will no longer be on your system.

I'm so glad the cheat detection is getting more, and more strict. Not only are the CS Guards are getting more strict with cheaters, but the admins as well. I would like to take my hat off and salute the admins for all their hard work and effort they put into this It really does suprise me and makes me feel a lot better to play here I mean cheaters really do spoil everything Now then let's carry on and keep it cool So we all can continue to be a community of fair gamers

What's an applog? I know it must be something
obvious that I'm just not getting...

I think it is a log in your reg that says that a cheat used to exist.

Kind of OBH, an applog is a file in c:/windows/applogs. What it does is contain some information that is used when your comuter is running the defrag thinggy in windows. It only exists on 9x and ME systems. It's just another way of scanning for old cheats that would get caught anyway, and still doesn't help get anything new, and on top of that all makes all the admin's lives a living hell with people getting banned, and me bitching at them

Oh, yeah. Like I said, I knew it would be something that I
should already have known.

Is there any harm in deleting what's in my applog? Is it simply there taking up space, or what? While we are on the topic...

im so glad tfc has got a good cheat detection system -- as im not the best player -- as most of u by now have probably realized -- lol -- and i have a hard enough time against people who r on the same playing field as me -- if i had to play against someone who could c me through walls or was extra hard to kill i would probably go bezerk and have a break down -- lol

the only worry that i have got with this cheat protection is that u can download files to put in your tfc directory that make the crowbar look like a lightsaber or a pringles can -- i would just like to know whether the cs-gaurd or which ever one your using now would class that type of player edit a cheat as their r cheats that change the appearance of players to help the cheaters c them better so would the cheat gaurd say that this was a cheat or not -- im asking b4 i install the download -- cos i dont wont to b booted from my favourite servers.

Whatever happened to the "freshness dating" idea Snaggletooth came up with? Guys, this thread is a month old... let it die. Here's a rule of thumb: if it's more than a week old, don't touch it.

When there is an old thread out there that is still relevant and already has some information on it, why start a new one? #Fade in #alien
